Reflection for April 26, 2026

Good Shepherd Sunday

by Sister Laura Zelten

On this Good Shepherd Sunday, we are reminded that we are never alone. Jesus, our Shepherd, knows each of us personally and calls us by name. His voice is not one of fear or confusion, but of peace, love, and truth. In a world filled with noise and distractions, it can be difficult to recognize His guidance. Yet He remains constant, leading us toward what is good, protecting us from harm, and offering us fullness of life.

Like the early believers, we are invited to turn our hearts back to Him, to listen more closely, and to trust more deeply. Following Jesus does not mean the path will always be easy, but it does mean we will never walk it alone. His care is gentle, patient, and faithful.

As members of His flock, we are also called to reflect His love by caring for others, supporting our community, and helping one another stay close to Him. When we trust in the Good Shepherd, we find true peace and purpose, knowing He is leading us toward eternal life.

Reflection Questions:

When have you felt guided or protected by Jesus in your life?

What distractions keep you from hearing His voice clearly?

How can you help others feel the care of the Good Shepherd?

1. I've felt guided or protected by Jesus in my life when I pray when I am worried or feel troubled.

2. One distraction that keeps me from hearing His voice clearly is by getting caught up in scrolling and wasting time on you tube videos causing me to not pray like I desire to do.

3. How can I help others feel the care of the Good Shepherd? Through my religious Ed work, truly listening to others and practice compassion and understanding.
