In today’s second reading St. Paul tells us, “Woe to me if I do not preach the Gospel.” So how do I do this?
In other words, as Jesus says in today’s Gospel: “Let us go to nearby villages and preach there also.”
I like the questions - very appropriate for all of us. God Bless you! Father Bill Jacobs
"Praise the Lord, who heals the brokenhearted." Ps. 147
I like the Psalm and its refrain. For me, it sums up 'the work of God.' And as I see so much broken-heartedness, broken spirits, broken lives today, I feel a particular calling to listen - and listen more deeply - to the pained and sorrowed spirits of others. In listening this way, I experience what Paul describes,
"All this I do for the sake of the gospel, so that I too may have a share in it." (1Corin. 9:23) And what St. Francis came to know, too: "It is in the giving of ourselves, that we receive."
It is in the giving of ourselves...
