St. Joseph shows us how to listen with courage
by Sister Agnes Fischer
An angel told St. Joseph in a dream not to hesitate to receive Mary into his home, since she had conceived by the Holy Spirit, and that the son who would be born of her should be named Jesus, because he would save "his people from their sins."
St. Joseph knew how to respond to God's call, and from then on he looked after Mary and the child, even in the most difficult circumstances.
In this way he was able to collaborate effectively in God's saving work.
Today, may we learn from St. Joseph to not harbor doubts, to be certain of the great love that God has for us and to overcome the divisions that may exist in our communities and families.
Let us prepare our hearts, with the help of St. Joseph, to receive “God-with-us”.
