Following Jesus takes effort, courage, and love -- as demonstrated by our Jubilarians
by Sister Lynne Marie Simonich
Sunday's Gospel reminds us of the demands of being a true disciple of Jesus. The images of a “narrow gate” and a door that is locked remind us that our journey to the kingdom is not easy and requires effort.
We do have a “road map” that helps us get through the locked doors or the narrow gates. We are invited to live a life of love, to bear witness to the Word, to be of service to others and to worship our God in faith and a spirit of hope. We are called to transform our lives, live like Jesus, and be a blessing to the world.
This Sunday, the Diocese of Green Bay will celebrate the 50th, 60th, 70th and 75th Jubilees of Sisters serving in the Diocese. Our Sisters Claudette Jeanquart, Joanne Goessl, Marilyn Herr, Michele Finger - 70 years and Elise Cholewinski - 60 years share in this celebration (see bios). These women have lived and continue to live for the sake of the Gospel bringing hope, love, and joy to our fragile world. May they all be blessed and be filled with joy and peace.
50-75 Years......Oh My:) Congratulations & Thank You Sisters for all your dedication and devotion to The Sisters Of St. Francis Of The Holy Cross.
