(Aug. 22, 2018) -- The Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross join the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) in expressing grief for the irreparable damage done to the victims of clergy sexual abuse. Their heartbreaking accounts were in the news with the release of the Pennsylvania Grand Jury report on Aug. 14. Our prayer and collective call is for Church leaders to take further steps in protecting the vulnerable, restoring the victims, eradicating the abusers, punishing the culpable, and strengthening policies so that the Church is once again a beacon of truth, trust and Gospel justice.
