My swift but adventurous story can be divided in two parts: military and civilian. My childhood story consists of family life, sacraments and K-12 schooling which all occurred during my father’s military career.
My adult story -- post-high school education and marriage -- began my civilian story. Robert “Bob” Decker and I married at St. Jude Parish, Green Bay. Our faith and love has blessed us with three sons: Kevin (spouse Melissa), John (Renee), and Matthew (Amanda), and five grandchildren. We lived in Kewaunee for 36 years where we served in several ministries at Holy Rosary Parish.
We returned to the Green Bay area seven years ago and began the gift of caring for parents and grandchildren and ministering at Our Lady of Lourdes (OLOL): Bob as a Eucharistic Minister and I as a lector and member of the Adult Faith Formation Team and OLOL Book Club. I began bringing my mother, Jean Dillon, to this Community’s Associate meetings and Dialogue discussions. My late father, John, was an Associate, too. Through these encounters I began having interest in the Sisters’ and Associates’ missions.
So, my swift but adventurous story continues with wondering, questioning and mentoring. With the Sisters and Associates, I will continue to grow in the ministry that Jesus Christ charges us all to follow.
