Carla Schommer

As a Franciscan Associate, Carla says that the Franciscan spirit renews and strengthens her commitment to being a servant leader in community and work.

Carla was born in a small rural community near Fond du Lac. She is the oldest of six children. She married John Schommer and resided in Sheboygan where they raised their daughter and son.

For a few years, Carla served as the Motherhouse Director for the Green Bay Franciscan Sisters. She is presently employed as a Chaplain and Mission Director at Felician Village, Manitowoc.

St. Peter Claver Parish, Sheboygan, has been graced over the years with Carla’s involvement in the parish community. She was a Eucharistic minister, music leader, lector, elected Parish Council member, visitor of the homebound, and minister to the teens/youth.

Presently she serves as a Ministry Team member for the RCIA in the Sheboygan Catholic Parishes. Carla is a busy person with family, work, church, and other interests.
