250 Acts of Mercy

The Leadership Conference    of Women Religious (LCWR)  asked   Religious Communities to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States by performing 250  acts of mercy  throughout the year.     Our Sisters responded   by committing themselves  to  over  800 acts of mercy  this year!     Acts of mercy are really a natural part of daily life.  This is an opportunity to choose to do an action with a special intention.     The Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy offer many suggestions for each of us:   feed the hungry,   shelter the homeless, visit the sick, forgive injuries - just to mention a  few.     By our acts of mercy,  we can add kindness to our world every day.  May God bless our nations and bring about peace in our world.
