'Contemplate Christ' at weekend retreat

StClareEucharistWho could be so wise as to receive calls from popes, cardinals and bishops? The answer is St. Clare of Assisi.

Spend some quiet time with the Lord during our "Consider, Contemplate, Imitate Christ" Retreat Feb. 15 to 17, 2013,  in Green Bay. We invite all single women from 19 to 30 years old to take time at the beginning of Lent to reflect on God's presence in your life.

The retreat title comes from our Franciscan Sister, St. Clare of Assisi, who nearly 800 years ago wrote to Agnes of Prague, "Let us gaze upon Christ, consider Christ, contemplate Christ as we desire to imitate Christ." Her powerful words will be discussed and contemplated during our time together (Friday evening to Sunday morning) at our Motherhouse (directions).

The weekend will include:

  • Mass and Eucharistic Adoration
  • Introduction to two of our Church's most revered Saints -- Francis and Clare of Assisi, Italy -- and the significance of the San Damiano cross in their lives
  • Experiencing St. Clare's favorite way to pray (gaze up Christ, consider Christ, contemplate Christ, Imitate Christ)
  • Reflecting on the Letters of St. Clare to Agnes of Prague, a young woman desiring to give herself to Jesus and the Church as Clare did
  • Prayer time with mosaics based on St. Francis' Canticle of Creatures

To learn more, contact Sister Laura Zelten at 920-288-0237 or via email. If you're ready for this uplifting, life-giving weekend, we welcome you to register. There is no fee for this event which includes lodging and meals.
