'It is a privilege to live in God's presence'

Sister Annette Koss

Sister Annette Koss is the daughter of the late Helen and Edward Koss. She is the youngest of seven siblings and lived on a dairy farm a half mile west of Casco.  When pulling weeds and picking stones she thought, "Life would be easier in the village."  Now she knows, "Life was far richer on the farm."

She grew up surrounded by creation, her first Bible.  It was there she discovered God in the midst of outdoor beauty.  Her vocation was fostered by her religious family, pastor and religious summer schools with the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross.  Faith learning was fun and it was these joy-filled Sisters who were her first attraction.

Sister Annette holds degrees in education and theology from St. Norbert College in De Pere, a master's in religious studies from Fordham in New York, and a master's in counseling from UW-Oshkosh.  She taught grades 3 to 8 in Catholic schools in Allouez, Howard, Osman, De Pere and Goodman.  Sister Annette was a faith formation coordinator in Combined Locks, Coleman, Suamico, Appleton and Kimberly.  She currently serves as pastoral associate in Holy Spirit Parish, Kimberly/Darboy.  Here she helps with new parish members, baptism, RCIA, pastoral care, guidance, teaching, social concerns, annulments, funerals and grief support.

Sister Annette received her first horse for her second birthday and still has a passion for them.  She also enjoys gourmet cooking, biking, hiking, skiing, art, photography and learning. Sister Annette values life in community and ministry as she listens, relates, serves and celebrates.

"It is a privilege to live in God's presence, to help people live with more awareness and be present in transition."
