I grew up with the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross. Sister Paulette Hupfauf is my godmother, I attended grade school at Holy Angels in Darboy, and I was an aspirant for 18 months at the chapel at Robinsonville. I learned from the Sisters over many years; however, I did not know much about the Associate Relationship. While attending an Advent Day of Reflection at the motherhouse several years ago, Sister Francis Bangert asked if I’d ever considered it. I hadn’t and didn’t imagine that it was in my future. Then came the pandemic, and many days and weeks at home pondering the world and my role in it. Eventually, I met with Sister Ruth Ann LaBine to learn and discern. I was happy to reconnect with Sister Charlene Hockers in the preparation, as well. Thanks to those two wise women!
My hope is that through an Associate Relationship, my faith and connection with God will be deepened. As well, I hope to expand my understanding of how my prayer life works to serve others, locally and globally.
