Outcomes of the Lenten “40 Days for Life” Prayer Vigil
From Ash Wednesday through Palm Sunday, prayerful vigils were held near abortion clinics in 167 cities across the United States, Canada, Australia, and Northern Ireland. The vigils attracted 48,000 participants from over 200 church congregations (not only Catholic churches.)
According to 40 Days for Life, the vigils generated 200 news stories, saved 633 lives, and led to 4 abortion workers quitting their jobs. Some facilities reduced their hours and some closed on days they usually would have performed abortions.
Another campaign will be held during October, which is Respect Life Month.
