Sisters Support US Bishops’ Push for Immigration Reform

"every man and woman may be regarded as brothers
and sisters, children of the same Father"
— Pope Benedict XVI
In 2003, the Catholic Bishops of the United States and Mexico issued a pastoral letter concerning migration entitled:
Strangers No Longer: Together on the Journey of Hope. http://www.usccb.org/mrs/stranger.shtml
Since that time, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has continued to educate Catholics about immigration and also to encourage Congress to reform the broken immigration system in the United States. On January 6, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops announced steps to push for the enactment of immigration reform legislation in 2010.
This year, as part of their program called Justice for Immigrants, the Bishops launched a new Justice for Immigrants www.justiceforimmigrants.org website and are sponsoring a postcard campaign that invites Catholics to urge Congress to pass legislation that reforms our immigration policies. Go to the new website and you will see the words “Send a postcard to Congress.”
