Sisters Participate in Green Bay’s Green Parade

The Green Bay Coalition sponsored a week full of events to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day.  The events included the 1st Annual Green Parade held on April 24 in the Broadway District.  All parade entries had to be “green” – materials used had to be biodegradable, recyclable, or non-polluting.

We carried a banner made from felt and burlap that proclaimed the words of praise of St. Francis, “Praised be you, my Lord, through our sister Mother Earth.”  To us, it expresses the heart of Earth Week and if prayed and lived by all who share this Earth would transform our thinking and choices and would restore Mother Earth’s land, water, and air.
